وی با بیان اینكه 40 سال است از آغاز آشنایی من با حسین قندی می‌گذرد، ادامه داد: قندی به كار حرفه‌ای بسیار علاقه‌مند است و این یكی از ویژگی‌هایی است كه یك روزنامه‌نگار می‌تواند داشته باشد.

فرقانی ادامه داد: اگرچه به اعتقاد من امروز دیگر زمان ستاره ‌سازی در همه حوزه‌ ها گذشته است و منطقی هم نیست اما حسین قندی سال ‌ها كار حرفه ‌ای كرده است و جزو معدود افرادی است كه كار حرفه ‌ای و آموزشی را با هم انجام می دهد.

وی گفت: یكی از شرایط موفقیت در آموزش روزنامه‌نگاری، داشتن تجربه عملی در این حوزه است تا بتوان گلوگاه ‌های روزنامه نگاری حرفه‌ای را با تجارب شخصی به دانشجو منتقل كرد و این یكی از ویژگی‌های قندی است.
